blown motor

lol. many things can "break". it's not like a piston engine where you throw a rod, or crack a head. you usually just lose compression, apex seal jiggles around and your rotor and housing is cracked. or coolant seal failure.

I recently picked up a Turbo II with a blown motor and after doing a lot of research on what usually happens when they blow, your best bet is just to get a Mazda remanufactured motor. I got quoted 2300$ for my S4 motor. You can find rebuilds for a little less, but if any of your parts are bad (which is likely) you'll end up paying more, and the reman motor comes with a warranty.
