Im equipped with an hks ssqv right now and the thing is damn loud, a friend of mine said he could hear it about a block away. in my opinion thats rice, as its much louder than it has any business being. so in that case whats a decent bov i can find used that doesnt make a **** load of noise. any suggestions, any experience? im open to anything as id rather not be too obvious about whats under the hood.

Unless you route your BOV back into the intake they'll all be loud.

Vents boost during shift, that way when you let go of the throttle, and the throttle plate closes, the excess boost travels back towards the turbo. Before it hits it though, it gets vented by the BOV because if not damage to the compressor wheel can occur.

the blow off valve also, gives quiker spool up between shifts, as the unwanted air is released and isnt making a nuisance of itself...lol
