[quote name='drunkin_idiot' date='Sep 11 2005, 07:48 PM']I agree with kevin. I have herd of about 3-4 people breaking the POS rubber diaphram inside these things, HKS is overpriced ****.

i still have the stupid paperweight SSQV somewhere. but if i find it i might just throw it really hard at something, so i dont feel like looking for it.

everytime i mention what happened to mine i normally find a bunch mroe people had the same problem, and most switch over to the RFL style BOV (not the actual RFL but the cylinder in a cylidner style.) it's a LOT better then the stupid rubber diaphragm.

kevin.

Its the stock Bypass valves with a Home Depot racing 1-way Check valve on it. Casue the stock one is made to Leak(reroute) used aire back into the TiD, this way you can have it Vent atmospherically without a Vac leak.

If you just want cheap noise get the cookie cutter Blitz job. They are all over the place cheap and already mounted on the pipe.

The type-s is a really loud BOV, but anything over 12 psi constantly and you will break it. Really nice sound IMO.

*I too also hate the SSQV and HKS in general. Never had good luck with any of thier parts. THey just always seem to never fit right or be made very cheaply.

jwhorndog - can you give pics so that we may see how you hooked it up and possibly help you out here.

XS power type RFL is well you get what you pay for. The release hole is so tiny it can’t possibly vent out the pressure quick enough to stop compressor surge on any moderately boosting car. Go with a good name brand 40mm+

The only issue I have had and others with the greddy ones are the tension adjuster spring striping out. Then you have to take it apart and tap the inside again.
