About 80 bucks when i got mine 10 years ago.

With it bent, it will change the geometry. Mostly toe. The ends are like ball joints. I would recommend getting a new one if you can.

Your lucky if you only bent that??

I've done a similar thing.. hit the curb with my right rear tire and ONLY BENT the lateral link. I found on at a junkyard for 10$, and they are a breeze to change. Not sure on bolt size though.

"Dont drive with a bent link. The toe - angle is all messed up i bet.." CHEERS!

You could always upgrade to the adjustable camber link while your at it...

I hope you beat the ******* piss out of that guy.

Whew, only $10? That's a really sweet deal. They're $140 new from Victoria British.

hope you get it fixed man...sorry I can't be of any help...but DAMN, it boggles my mind how people can be such ******* assholes...(referring to the WRX kid)...how old was he?

teknics 10-24-2003 01:13 PM

well the WRX kid is 18. I was the only kid under 20 besides him (im only 19) that was there.

The WRX is now mirror-less and fuel door-less.

well i guess ill have to visit the junkyard soon.

as for how i ONLY bent that. i dunno, what else should i look for? i checked all the components on both sides that i could see. none were cracked and none looked out of shape except that one.

kevin.

the front bushing on the trailing arm is pretty soft so hopefully that deflected and the only thing bent was the lateral arm.

you should check the wheel for being bent, and the wheel hub as well.

once you get a new lateral link have the car aligned that will tell you if something is too bent to use

yea i figured at the shop i'd put on the lateral link cause it seems like a quick job esecially with a 2post shop lift. then i'd throw it on the alignment rack to make sure everything is still straight.

honestly the car drives fine, no noises or anything, just right hand turns are pretty lose if i dive into them.

I gave everything a good once/twice over and i only see the lateral link being fubar. wait till you guys see a pic of it lol.

I got my vert from the original owner years ago, got it for a good

price because he also had hit a curb, bent a cracked a rim in the process. He then put rims and tires on the car, few months later he blows out the rear tire because it wore on the inside. He then took it

to a body shop where they told him he had frame damage. I drove the

car once and bought it right away because I knew it had no frame damage from the way the car drove. It drove perfectly fine.

1 lateral link ( cost was about $80-$90 ) and a good alighment and the car has perfect ever since.

Make sure you take it someplace and get a good alighment after.
