Tonight, after letting my 86 n/a sit for approximately 3 hours, I decided it was time to go to my meeting. It was about 27 degrees out, and I started cranking her over. It felt like the plugs fired maybe once and then settled into just spinning, not really doing anything. So, I thought it might just be simple flooding, and pulled out the egi fuse, and cranked it for 3 bursts of 5 seconds. This yielded one more pulse of the spark plugs before settling into spinning uselessly. I have little time to screw around with it, and I will try the unflooding trick a few more times. If any of you have any insights, I would be thrilled.

Either you are not gettin spark or you are not recieving fuel. That is what i would check. Good luck my friend.

 

The Rotary Gods have shown favor on me upon this evening, I got it running. My injectors must be on their way out, cause I unflooded it, and then floored the gas pedal upon starting, and it fired right up. 18 year old pieces of hardware just don't work like they used to. did it seem like it was turning over really fast like it had no

that happens on rare occasions.

 

Just a thought, but it could be water (ice at 27degrees) in the gas lines too. Was the tank less than full and was it warmer during the day?

 

Hey I came across a neat and easy way to check your plug wires and maybe your coils (maybe old news 2 U all)



Use the induction light from your timing light equipment and put the clamp as close to the spark plug as possible. If you are getting electrical impulse the light will come on. Still have to check the plugs the old fashioned way.
