Unhappy

Hey all I'm very new to the site. I am having some crazy problems with wiring on my 1988 10th AE. I have had the car for 2 weeks. It was previously my uncle's car. So far I have found the switches for the windows gone bad, clock quit, radio only plays a tape, hazrad lights come on for no reason and blink rapidly, and last but not least sometimes when I try to turn the map lights on the display board says that the hatch and door is open. I just wanna shoot my uncle because he never told me about any problems like this Does anyone have any suggestions for me or has anyone had similar problems? HELP

Welcome to the forum..

Sounds like a classic case of what's often called "cold solder joints."

The points where connector pins are soldered to the circuit boards tend to crack.

If you're handy with a soldering gun, you can re-solder the joints and 99% of your problems will disappear.

Also clean the connectors and re-crimp any loose sockets.

Look for scorched connectors at the headlight switch & the fan relay.

Much of the electronics in the 7 is interrelated.

Spend some time in the FAQ's at the top of the forum.

Much good stuff there.

I have an on-line copy of the manuals at the link in my sig below.

Download & print what you need.
