my mechanic yanked out my air filter, housing, etc...(now there's enough room there for a small child) i plan on getting a good intake but in the meantime is that possibly what is responsible for my idle/stall issues? also, i was suprised not to be able to find any feedback on aftermarket intakes.....what do the masses suggest? thanks e

Was your filter clogged? Or was your TID (turbo inlet duct) cracked? Those can cause rough a idle. What year is your car? If it is a S4, you'll need an adaptor plate for the AFM to put on a filter. Look on ebay, the plates are on there all the time, and are pretty cheap. IMO you can just buy a cheap cone filter and be done with it. You can find those on ebay too. You should be able to get the plate and filter for around $30.

I've got one of those cheap e-bay things. Do you think it should be coated with something, like using the k&n recharger kit?

The air flow meter? It has to say if you are using the stock ecu.
