Backfiring Driving Me Nuts

Ok well my car backfires almost evertime i shift and its not cool. Is this normal, is there anyway to stop it? The only time i like it is when its dark out and it blows a huge flame out

if you shift at high rpm the car goes pop. pretty simple.

How do you not likey teh flames, they are the coolest!!! Oh ya, do you have cats? If not, that would help the flamage out.

no i said i liked the flames, But the backfireing makes it seem like my car is a peice of ****, cause its loud as hell

Rotary=Backfire. I can even hear my 8 do it occasionally. I like it when I can drive the FD around and make it backfire at opportune moments. Just don't shift at higher rpms and maybe be easier on the downshift, if I do those it just about won't do it at all.

It is actually not backfire. Backfire is when the engine actually has combustion in the intake manifold, hints BACKfire, it is actually called afterfire. It happens bc 7's use alot of fuel, and dont use it all, and have super hot exhaust. Nothing can be done about it but put a cat back on it.

I have seen defective Air Control Valves cause this or sticking throttle bodies do this.
