I finally got around to starting my car again after the long drawn out FMIC process. Well, at first it didn't want to run at all...then I figured a good push start is all it would take, but after an hour of pushing it down a hill, then towing it back up...i gave up, only to find out that I had left my CAS unplugged during my timing adjustments earlier that day. So I plugged it back in, and primed the oil system...turned the key..bammo, started up for a few secs, then died back out, lol. Ahh...my old problem. However, I noticed that with the oil system primed, it does start easier, so thats a sign...I talked w/ an old buddy of mine who said that a lot of rebuilds that use old housings and new seals will take time before idling right or even to stay running..the new motor needs to build compression! So anyways...it was the lil woman's bday..so i stopped playing with the car for a while..but I'll get back at it tom. Just wanted to let you all know..
BTW, those w/ FMICs, did you notice your intake to be louder with the FMIC?? Not the filter, but I mean the whole intake tract...i guess w/ the larger GReddy elbow and larger plumbing..it just "WHISTLES" more...I LIKE IT

Typically, when you rebuild a motor that has new seals and old housings, it takes a while to build up its compression...I'm not completely ruling out other problems, but I know that when I primed the oil system which is supposed to aid in starting rebuilds...it helped. BigTurbo had to push start his rebuild to get it to idle, some cars just need a lil help..but I'll keep you all posted.

When the motor was assembled, it was coated with a thin line of oil...as well as a silicon substance to aid in the motor's longevity during storage....
I'm sure it will be ok soon, I'm just gonna keep playin w/ it.

you will be fine. i had to find many many solutions to dumbass problems. best thing i could tell ya would be cas, check for spark, make sure plugs aren't fouled, check for leaky injectors, vacuum leaks, vacuum leaks, and umm oh yeah vacuum leaks!!! good luck
