My Rx-7's engine is finally tosted! After the clutch install i attempted to start it. She started up and ran and then i shut it off to get something to eat for lunch. Came back out to start it up and go for a ride. All i got was clicking! I looked under the car to see a nice puddle forming of coolant. I guess running her with no exhaust got rid of too much back pressure causing the rear coolant seal to take a ****. Now i have no time to fix her due to my *** leaving for boot camp in 2 weeks so she will sit for 11 weeks till i get back. I think it is time for a rebuild with a little porting to ease my soul when i get challenged to a race. I think i will be going all out on this car. She is solid and only has 117K so it looks to me that i will be making a track/weekebd car and driving a geo till i compleat her.

ummm... I don't think I've ever heard that running a car without the exhaust will blow a coolant seal. I think you must have other issues. good luck with it.

I am not fighting for bush. I really could care less for him. I am fight for my future because i cannot get a loan for school. They will pay me for school so why not. I know it is better than sitting around making 9-12 bucks an hour trying to save 11k up for one marking period.

Damn bro, I wish you the best of luck than.

Haven't you tried financial aid or student loans or Salliemae.com?

Yes i have. I have tried everything i could have though of. You are not a dependent till the age of 25 and most loan companys will not let you take a loan unless you are a dependent. Every other loan company would give me a loan but were loan sharks and wanted me to start paying them back as soon as school started. For my first semester it would have cost me 11K alone!

Sounds like a coolant leak and a bad battery/starter connection.

Does not sound like a coolant seal at all.

The car starts. I have to drain out the bell housing or the starter will short out. Where could the coolant leak from to fill up the bell housing? I am just going to get her rebuilt or a turbo swap done. I rather do a rebuild so it can keep the value it has and be sold later down the road for something better but not totally sure on what i will do.

joining the military just for college money won't make you very happy. I'd advice against it. Join because you want to do the job. and good luck fixing your car. I still have no idea how coolent is getting in your transmission's bell housing. Usually oil can leak in there from the rear main seal. if your car runs and idels without you pedeling it you might not have a blown engine.
