Today we blew the old motor up and got started on putting the new motor in my 87 Gxl. We started this morning at 10 and the new motor is sitting in the car almost ready to be started. All we have left to do is put the upper mani on, plug everything in, and figure out what is going to be left of the rats nest of a vacuum rack.

We spent the extra time to clean the engine bay with a purple bottle of grease lightning, that stuff is awesome. I will get some pics and the destruction video up as soon as I can.

We started the new motor this afternoon before the rain. It ran for just a few seconds then died bc the fuel pump wont stay on I figure it is a ground that is loose somewhere. I will go get some pictures developed today and see if I can get the video uploaded.

wait youre going through all this trouble and youre leaving that horrid rats nest on?

booo, trash it, completely not necessary, plus your motor will look 10 years younger without it.

Well today I ended up ditch the whole rats nest. When it did start it ran strong and fired off on the second or third crank.

throttle bombs usually work a whole bunch faster with no fluids in the engine.

The bumper starting on fire was about the funniest thing ever.
