The best alternative is Freeze12 which is a NON FLAMMABLE freon substitute. You don't even need to evacuate the old freon and it works much better than R134. At $12/can you can't find a better deal. Used it for 2 years now and can't tell the difference from R12.

You have to be certified to buy it but the online test is only $20. I get mine done from a local mechanic. There aren't many who have even heard of it. But this is some good ****.

it can be converted to 134a easy no major $ it cools just as good. put adp. fittings on add some ester oil vacuum&charge, it takes less to run with it. 25% less you can change it over for price of 1 can of r12.if its 12 it will have threads on ports .134 has quick disconnect ports
