The best alternative is Freeze12 which is a NON FLAMMABLE freon substitute. You don't even need to evacuate the old freon and it works much better than R134. At $12/can you can't find a better deal. Used it for 2 years now and can't tell the difference from R12.

www.freeze12.com
You have to be certified to buy it but the online test is only $20. I get mine done from a local mechanic. There aren't many who have even heard of it. But this is some good ****. |
it can be converted to 134a easy no major $ it cools just as good. put adp. fittings on add some ester oil vacuum&charge, it takes less to run with it. 25% less you can change it over for price of 1 can of r12.if its 12 it will have threads on ports .134 has quick disconnect ports https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

Now if I only had A/C. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif

usually u can get kit at walmart for 30 something dollars. have seen 134a system pull under 40 deg. r12 is like 1000$ for a 30lb container! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

Room for what? The only thing That I think that would get in the way would be the power steering, for the intercooler. But its gone.
