https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif this may be the stupidest thing that someone has ever asked, or it could be a pretty good question. I was sitting around the other day and was wondering what to do with my air pump and ACV on my N/A S4 since i dont have any cats. then i got the idea that maybe i could leave the air pump on and duct it into my air intake right behind the AMF (take off the ACV of course). I thought about it for awhile and started to think that it might work. I was wondering if this would be like a makeshift supercharger or would it just be the stupidest thing and wouldnt work. if someone has done this or has thought this out further tell me how and what the results were. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif
BTW i have a modified throttle body, a cold air intake, and no cats so far as to mods |
i dont think the airpump would spool up fast enough ( probably have the same rpm as the motor?) , turbo's and superchagrers spin at incredible speeds, even electric superchargers barely make any boost.

the air pump doesnt move enough air to make a difference, but you could use it to open your six ports

Would that do anything usefull?

I was thinking about putting my air pump back in just so I can control the 6 port activation.

The air pump only controls the auxilary ports in 89-91 cars. aslong as you have an exhaust that hooks up to the split air tube and is designed for it your ports should work if you have an 86-88 car.
Santiago There is a good S4 "six port solution" write up somewhere on the net about this.. I don't have the link here in front of me. |
