Today i took the belt off of my air pump and started the car. it barley idled and it reduced my idle from 1500 to around 800 and the vehical had alot of hesitation through the rpms. i thought u could just take the pump off and there would be no problems. the vehical also smoked alot on start up after doing this. any ideas PLEASE help. Ive had so many problems!

If you have a catalytic converter put the belt back on the pump. There is no reson to remove it otherwise it creates virtualy no drag.
