can i remove it?

"You cannot remove the airpump on s5 n/a(s) as it is needed for proper operation of the VDI, unless you want to mess around with electronic activation.."- 1revvin7

is that true? i hope that i can just take it off its such an eyesore.

pengaru 07-20-2003 12:47 PM

yes it's true, S5 6PI and VDI run off the airpump for actuation. S4 uses exhaust backpressure.

jcyrx7 07-20-2003 03:36 PM

is there any way i can remove my airpump?

no, not if you remove the airpump.

You can rig up electronic actuation with some solenoids and a rpm switch, this has some nice advantages anyways, you can tweak when VDI and 6PI come on.

jcyrx7 07-23-2003 01:13 PM

how would i go about rigging up the electronic actuation and how much would it run me?

FrestyleFC3S 07-23-2003 01:34 PM

ecu would control it

besides that i dunno

or you can pull off the airpump and then rip out the 6th port sleeves like vosko and i did on the gxl i had.
