Just fill the holes before you paint the front end.

I hate the FTP lenses because they always get messed up.

i've only seen one of my friends car which looked new then again i think his car was crashed before he got it so that could be the reason https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif

just leave the ftps off. It looks pretty good and it gets more air into the intake.

Hey, thanks for the info gents!

I guess simply taking my other FTP lens out would be one way to "even up" the look of the car, but I don't know if I like the look of it. My car is white, and somehow I think that adds to the "missing part" look. I think I'd be able to get away with the missing lenses better on a darker-colored car, but maybe that's just me.

Maybe I should try painting the insides of the FTP cavities black in order to make them look a little more "intentional". As has been pointed out, the FTP lenses really aren't neccesary. Drivers in MO are too dumb to know why I'm flashing my lights at them anyway, so I never even use them for their intended purpose.

Those Japanese lights look much nicer than the lenses I have. I did find the US lenses at Mazdatrix - $62.28 each. I wouldn't want to replace just one - since my current lens is old and scratched, they wouldn't match, so it would cost me $124.56 to replace the pair. Compare that to $174.95 for the Japan-spec lights, and they don't seem like THAT bad of a deal - you pretty much get reamed either way. At least the Japan-spec parts are a customization and not simply a repair. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

p.s. Thanks to the mods for moving this thread here, and my apologies for posting it in general. Dumb newbie move, won't happen again.

I paid $45 a piece from mazda.

Same here, less then $90 for the pair from Mazda, they look soooooo good when they are new. At that price, Ill replace them every few years if need be.
