I'm gonna buy a flywheel and clutch very soon. I'm thinking about getting the 9.5 lbs flywheel and clutch combo from SR Motorsports. I'm not gonna be making over 250 ft-lbs of torque and even that is over estimating and I won't be drag racing very much mostly road racing. How much can the stock clutches handle? Do you guys know the cheapest clutch for my application and the cheapest place that sells lightweight flywheels?
What I think is stupid is they tell you the weight of the flywheel and not the rotational inertia. What in your experiences is the lightest in terms of feel without losing drivability? Thanks |
my stock clutch died with a hybrid turbo @10psi.
i would do the next step up pp. i have a racing beat steel flywheel and i love it, its the weight they should have from the factory mike |
a good clutch is the ACT ZX2-HDSS. My boy got it and it feels really nice.

ACT MAKES GREAT STUFF Go with them. If you looking for faster 1/4 miles times a AL flywheel is great but if you race road course more and keep your rpms high most of the time 6-8K shift pts. you have to keep the stock steel one

I thought heavier flywheels were better for dragging and were more streetable while lighter ones were better for road racing. Am I wrong here?

ACT all the way. 2 years and no problems. Drag and track.

I had a ACT clutch in my old honda, i loved it and it held real good, for the rx7 i went with a Spec Stage 3 (4 puck with a sprung hub) whole kit was $305, go to enjukuracing.com to see them
