I did mine in blue...my engine bay scheme is blue and polished/AL look
this is the best pic i have of the LIM back a few years ago when i first did it..now that i've got some miles on the motor..it still looks good, but has to be cleaned up to really shine..which is a bitch...i'm thinking of pulling it back off and repainting it, then putting a nice 500degree clearcoat on it...dunno yet...

got a question, when you painted the tb and what not did you have to uninstall all of the levers and springs so that they wouldn't get stuck to each other or did it just work out without any problems? looks very nice, makes me think about what color i'm gonna paint my next engine..

I disassembled the TB when I painted mine, however, I just brushed the springs, cable holds, etc. (sorry no pic) Testors model paint w/ penetrol and some flex additive seems to work well. When applied w/ a brush it easier to keep the paint where it belongs.

I didn't bother pulling all of the **** off the TB. I just painted a bunch of light coats. And when I flipped it over to paint it from another direction, I wedged a peice of plactic holding the throttle open so the linkage was in a different position. Seems to have worked, the throttle plates don't stick at all. it snaps shut nice and quick.
Here are some pics of the sleave I made to make an external wastegate. I damn near cut the tip of my finger off making it. Whoops. LOL!
