Mazdatrix says you have to drill into their ACV blockoff plate to put a vacuum nipple on there...has anyone done that and can someone tell me how? If there's some other way to change the vacuum lines to avoid that, please tell me...I'm a big fan of the easy way.
Also, when removing the BAC, what do you do with the air line that runs into the turbo outlet? Cap it? Finally, the vacuum line for the EGR just gets capped when you remove it, right? In case you can't tell, I'm seeing how much crap I can take off of my car and still drive it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png |
You don't need to drill that hole. I never did. I've always just thrown the plate on and capped the lines going to the ACV.

If you want to put a vacuum nipple on it then just drill a hole, tap it with a 1/8" NPT tap, and buy a vacuum nipple with a 1/8" NPT male end from Pep Boys. That with some teflon tape will work well.

i didn't tap my acv. i did exactly like 13BAce said. i just capped my acv lines before i eventually removed the WHOLE nest of crap that was completely unnecessary https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
ed if you want to know how to do it i can tell you. my car has two vacuum hoses and NO EMISSIONS https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png |
There are 3 lines going into the ACV, right? I can just cap all 3? That's the best news I've heard all day.
vosko, next time I take off the UIM, I want to scrap all of the emissions junk under there. Until then, it can wait. |
By the way, do turbos and N/As have the same water pumps?
|
i think the water pumps are the same. my engine is sooo empty with all that crap removed https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

I like the fact that I'll be able to change my plugs from above the car now...without burning my hand on the starter.
|
I wish I could change my plugs from the top!
|
Take all of that useless **** out of the engine bay!
