Thumbs up

i know there were some changes with the second gen years to the motors and ecu's. i know this has prob been asked before, isearched and couldnt find really anything. what is required say to put a 91 gxl motor into a 88 gxl? i want the ecu too from it but whats the big difference is mounting and extra hardware i would have to aquire to to the swap? is it worth it? say i just wanted the 91 ecu. would i benefit anything from the updated ecu. my car is a 88 gxl 5 speed, i just want the most updated ecu for my car and possibly the motor if its worth it? any answers are seriously appreciated.thanks

Just keep what you have. You could always try the 89-91 motor with the 88 ECU, but for most people using the 89-91 ECU will be way too much work. I did it with a friend of mine, and there was alot of re-wiring to do, and not all of the new features are going to work.
