how much difference do the 5/6 ports make? I drove my car home today, no 5/6 ports because I had to drive it home with no exhaust. I was wondering because coming off a light, up to about 70, I had it floored, shifting at redline, my gf driving her focus stayed right on me, and she said she wasnt anywhere near flooring it.

Does this sound about right? Would the 5/6 ports make that much difference, or is there something else wrong that I should look for. I mean, running with all ports open, a stock focus zts shouldnt be able to match my acceleration, should it?

Thats about right. The vert is the slowest of the FCs.

well, I can't have that. as soon as I fix the exhaust and the radiator, I'm going to sell it, or trade it off

Do what you want, but IMO, a nice vert is a very nice car, and if you want a vert, what else would you buy? A mustang?

You should have two cars anyway. A nice driver, and a stripped out racer that you can beat the **** out of. That's what I do. Well, except that the 7 is the racer, and I haven't been able to bring myself to strip out that nice leather interior.

I can't afford to have a nice driver and a racer. I've got a beat up old caravan for a driver, and still can't afford a racer. I didnt really want a convertible to begin with, but couldnt pass it up for the price (puts on flame suit) I was actually looking for a first gen at the time

Dont give up on it! Verts are nice cars, and there are still things that can be done to make it respectable.

Someone correct me if im wrong, but I think all verts came with 3.9 rear gears. You can just go to the bone yard and get a 4.10 diff off any 5 spd N/A FC. A good exhaust, light flywheel, pulleys, and some weight reduction.

You wont be taking TIIs, but it will be a nicer, more fun car.

You loose 10% - maybe even 20% of your power running with an open manifold & no exhaust pipe.

Then take away the aux ports - You were really running lame.

You got it back together yet?

It feels better now?
