Why wont the tranny bolt up? The mounts are the same between s4 and s5, unless the car was originally an auto. The chassis mounts for the trans were different on the auto.

The Mount itself is the same.. its the rubber bushings and the thing that bolts to the tranny itself that isnt the same.. I have mine off of the NA tranny, and I have mine off ofthe TII tranny.. and they are different.. the TII tranny is smaller with a more severe angle on both sides.. The NA one is a bit longer and less angled..

I dont know how to describe it, but as the car is at a garage I dont have readily availible, I cant show you pics.

So, now that the drivetrain is ALMOST bolted up. The next step is Megasquirt, IC and the biggest pain in hte ass - wiring.

Ive got a S5 TII trans mount Im not using. PM me with an offer if you want it.

I need the S4 TII mount, as its the S4 TII tranny.

The motor is in, gettingit cleaned up a bit, I deleted the A/C and Was working on the power steering, but I decided I should have some more experianced people with me while I do it. But I looked down and saw a hardline that was cut before the coupler...

Any idea's as to what it is?

Its the focal point of the picture.

So. This project is back on hold. I've gotten mixed messages from tons of people about how to mate this motor to the drivetrain inmy car. I had everything worked out, and then Pineapple Racing told me that it wouldnt work.

S5 flywheel - Auto counterweight - new clutch - S5 Turbo tranny: these are the things I was told by numerous people that I need for the drivetrain to be done.

Now, Pineapple has me all confused and very very frustrated. So, unless I can get some answers or whatnot, I'm going to be thinking about re-selling the car.

What did pineapple tell you you need? They are probably full of ****. Juse ust all FC clutch components and flywheel with the fc trans and it will be perfectly fine. There is nothing different on the engine side that would affect the trans.

You only need the auto counterweight if you are using an aftermarket flywheel, which is not generation specific. The aftermarket flywheels are the same for all 87-91 TII's and 92-02 RX7's(I believe the rx8 is the same diameter, but im not sure its 100% interchangable). You just need to have the auto counterweight that matches your rotor weight, either the S4 or the S5-S7.

thats pretty much what I figured, so I went ahead and ordered the counterweight, my block off plates, and I'm ordering my flywheel/clutch parts today.

Ahh.. I did some wiring today. I started with my FD wiring harness, and cut off the two ECU chassis plugs. Then I went and grabbed my FC ECU. Found diagrams of both, consulted a friend. And made a wiring adapter for my ECU.

HEre are Before and after pictures.
