I'm having trouble locating a gas smell after running my 7.

It has a bonez downpipe w/no cats, and 2.5 exhaust all the way back. no air pump. the only thing I haven't checked is the

fuel pump itself b/c I'm still getting great gas mileage. Please if anyone has had this problem!!! HOW ABOUT LETTING ME IN ON THE SECERT.... THANX ???

a common failure point is the fuel pulsation dampener or rod(i think that is the name) if it fails. it will leak gas onto the red hot intake and cauise a FIRE. you should also check all your fuel lines for leaks. sorry if i'm wrong on the name of the part its early in the morning :sigh:

I'm just wondering but cats do burn off the extra hydrocarbons ( or octane) right? So if you you dont have a cat some fumes should be aroud while running the car. This is just a guess.

I have a N/A with no cats and the exaust smells pretty bad. Youll get used to it, Im hoping adding another pre-silencer will hopefully clean the thing up.

A presilencer will only quiet things down. You may have exhaust coming in through your shifter surround and taillight seals. Driving with the windows closed can sometimes help.

The thing stinks coming right out of the tailpipes. Maybe its the fact that the Borla mufflers have zero packing, I dont know. Its a bit loud, and Im getting tired of it being loud and stinky. When I did the exaust 5 years ago, no one had loud jap cars, now all these kids with thier big mufflers on thier Sentras ruined it for everyone. Maybe Ill throw a high flow cat on it then, anything to clean it up would be nice, I would hate to put all 3 cats back on it.
