No they aren't the 88 T2 tranny is a little different then the 90. All you need is the mounting bracket off the 90 and they will bolt right up.

Yep. 90 trans has a V-style mount, 88 is flat, the actual crossmembers are interchangable, later style is stronger. More importantly the late trans has a harmonic balancer on the output shaft (inside) and does not have the resonance point the early ones do.
