Thumbs up

is it safe to run a 3 inch turbo back exhaust with the stock turbo or would it be better to run 2.5 so theres more back pressure?

Get a walbro fuel pump, or SAFC to add more fuel and you should be ok. A boost controller and ported wastegate would help out alot too.

the problem is boost control, 2.5" exhaust will prolly hit fuel cut (9-10psi) the 3" will make more power but its at like 11-13psi and thats a lot
