86-91 Motor
Will I have any problems swapping a 91 NA motor into my 86 NA? The motor comes with the water pump, LIM, all the vacuum **** and the flywheel. Im not sure about the UIM-LIM and the flywheel-clutch connections. Also are there any other spots I dont know about?
Thnx

the s4 extension manifold will not bolt to the s5 lower intake manifold.. you pretty much have to use all s4 or all s5 pieces.
the clutch/FW stuff is plug and play, just make sure you're using the s5 FW on the s5 motor, since the s5 rotors are lighter and the stock FW's have the counterweight built in.
one other thing to consider is that the s4 rad does not have the filler neck on the upper tank like s5's do, so to ensure that you are filling the cooling system at its highest point you'll need either an s5 rad or to swap in the s4 water pump housing with the aluminum t-stat cover with the fill cap. or you could come up with some other hack.
the only other thing i recall off the top of my head is that the connector for the coolant temp gauge sender is different between series, IIRC s4 is bullet and s5 is a spade. piece of cake.

cgeek,
you will also need an s4 front cover on the engine to continue using the mechanical OMP.
pulling the front cover will require pulling the front pulley boss, and if you do this, BE SURE to read the FAQ about not killing your thrust bearing on mazdatrix.com
