why do you go through all the trouble of pulling the egi fuse under the hood, why not just pull the fuel cut relay under the dash by the gas pedel???

 

Because they like to do it the hard way.

 

vacuum leaks. Unless the motor has really low compression, it should still start. Pressure test the intake and see if you hear any vacuum leaks. Solve those, and you solve many hard starting probs.

 

my god dude had the same problems..people here will give you scairy scairy advice..compression and vacuum....if its flooded continually starting ther car would have atleast burned off the excess..mostlikely old sparks tend to die out if the weather got cold..i freaked when mine wouldnt start..but i put more oild and new sparks in it.....worked like a charm......now im selling it....ohwell.....keep those spark plugs in check and make sure you go ahead and install a fuel cutt off...most rx7 mechanics can do that..but i doubt..and i mean i higly doubt it would have flooded that badly while you werre in the drug store..if it did.....your car is messed up worse then any i have seen

 

but then again im no mechanic...infact i could write a book on a v-8 but rotarys are greek to me..im just saying..cold weather and old sparks dont mix....and as you describe it...it sounds like your car is trying to turn over but because the sparks are not fireing in the right sequence(because one might be out) it wont catch..change your sparks before anything else..it couldnt hurt..then do the more rigorus tests if it doesnt work

 

leaky injectors can make it flood pretty easily, not sure if thats why it wouldnt start though.



if your motor has compression, it just needs some other things, properly timed spark, air, and fuel.

 

well like i said im in need of plugs i have no clue what the fuel cut relay looks like i really think its my plugs. I just had my engine rebuilt bout 4k ago just changed my oil, and i was lazy and never got plugs tnxs for the advice,,,im ganna go out to my car now and find my egi fuse and see if i can locate this magical fuel cut relay?? good news is that since this happend ive won a spot in the garage now my dads benz is sitting out in the cold, i feel alittle bad but atleast my baby is warm

 

DONT pull the wrong fuses or u will end up like me with an engine fire!!!!! hahaha

 

Here i went out to the cold garage to take a couple of pictures of the magical fuel cut relay, sorry the pictures are horrible but maybe it will give you an idea of what you're looking for, all you have to do is go straight up from the gas pedal and it attached to the right of the steering colum, above the gas pedal, it's a six pin plug with 5 wires the plug is white, and the box is yellow and black, the box is usally attached but the plugs will come undone. undo the plug and hold it floored when it starts plug it back in quickly, good luck. and let us know how it goes
