I have an S4 and I know that the ports work off of exhaust backpressure. the question is, how does te pressure get into the actuators. I have the RB header presilencer header combo on the car (bought it like that) and there is a hose that goes from the silencer to the back of the motor somewhere.



Does the pressure go through castings in the engine or something to get to the actuators. what am i missing.

 

that hose is called the split air tube, i believe it goes to the AC&CV. There are little tubes that go the actuators if u look closely.

 

There is a little vacuum line that goes to the exhaust off the actuators.

 

ok, I have a question that has been bugging me for a while, I know the S4 6 ports run off exhuast back pressure, what does the S5 6 ports run off of? since my cats umm, "fell off" and so did the hard line from the air pump, yet I can still feel them kick in about 5500 rpm.

 

I took of the actuators, so where would the exhaust come out of? Im thinking one of the little holes where it attaches. i suck at explaining stuff.



since i dont have the actuators will there be exhaust shooting out of where the acuators should be.

i dunno just take of that split air tube and get a block off plate.

 

There won't be any exhaus tcoming out of the engine, it should come out of a little fitting on the spilt air tube. If its hooked up, I'd just leave it on and cap off the small fitting.

i just took the 5th and 6th port out and left them open. she needed it. she pulls almost as hard as my buddies tII. hehe
