This 1986 Rx7 is running a 6 port bridgeport engine I built. The Rx-7 is running a stock ecu and air flow meter for now. I will be installing a nice Haltech E6K for it. I left the 5 and 6 port sleeve in there, so the car will not loose low rpm response. The sleeves were ported to allow the fuel to flow into the bridgeported 5 and 6 ports when they open @ around 5500rpm. I drove the car it feels great and has a nice Idle.... Brap brap brap. I tried geting a small video for the rotary noise thread but my digi-cam only records but has no audio.

Judge Ito 01-29-2003 05:25 AM

no pic? Ill try again

Baldy 01-29-2003 08:03 AM

ok, if I were to annoy myself, I would say that car's "off the chain"

I would pay you just to take it for a spin

vosko 01-29-2003 09:25 AM

oh it was for the white car! that car is clean! can't wait to hear it! so when are we having the JR Rotary Customer Appreciation day @ island dragway https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Hey judge Ito... I have a spare 87 6 port engine, what can i do to get more power out of it. What do you recommend. Should i port it and how? I know how to rebuild it but i want more power from it.

1Revvin7 01-29-2003 10:34 AM

ah I read the other topic, too bad you couldn't get pixs. Sounds cool , I wouldn't mind one with a little squirt :bigok:

rotary>piston 01-29-2003 03:05 PM

how fast is it, and, can it pass emissions? If it can i'm doing it

Blaze, I have ported a couple of 6 port engines. Right now I'm looking to see which is the best way to port a 6 port engine.I ported a

91 Fc using the high compression rotors. We haven't had a chance to dyno that car but the 91 fc feels great. this

86 Fc I did the bridgeported engine runs really strong. I have noticed an increase in power,at low rpm.Once the engine is ready we will dyno and have better input on what type of porting is better for reliable N/A power.

Goal horsepower is 250 to the wheels. Emissions??? not a problem leave the air pump and make sure all the pollution silenoids are working and bring the Hydro Carbons down...

j9fd3s 01-29-2003 08:01 PM

man that car is soooo clean. i hope you get you hp, my gsl-se need a little more power https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Thats a clean car. Those tires are jus the right width for it.wheels make it look mean.

vosko 01-29-2003 08:11 PM

ito makes me want to have a n/a again

dac 01-29-2003 08:12 PM

Got any pics of your bridgeport?

I bought these, but they look like they offer a HELL of a lot of intake timing. Most Bridgeports don't go up this high.

http://www.daczone.com/sideplate2.jpg

The Bridge is small, but high. They need to be lapped.

vosko 01-29-2003 08:14 PM

ito was in a rush to finish the car so he put the engine together without any pictures.....

j9fd3s 01-29-2003 08:16 PM

i bet ito's ports are bigger https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png , dr ho was impressed

That sux.I love pics. :bigthumg:

vosko 01-29-2003 08:20 PM

compared to those parts they were ALOT bigger....... :smirk:

blaze08 01-29-2003 10:46 PM

I understand! You must have quite a bit of engines to test on huh? Well keep up us informed man of anything new. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Judge Ito 01-30-2003 07:36 AM

I swear I should have taking pics. I ported the regular 5 and 6 ports large. I flowed the port really nice since there is so much metal to allow a nice flow without going into the water jacket. The bridgeports are big but I left a nice thick bridge for some reliability(when a bridge is 2mm of thickness,I have found early cracking on the bridge it self) I left this engines bridge with a thickness of 4mm. When you first look at the side housings, and see, the enlarged ports with the extra bridgeports it looks really kool. So Far the engine feels really strong. If this engine turns out to make the goal horsepower, I will make this type of porting for who ever wants it. But remember this engines has a wicked Idle. :yum:

Your picture is a stock port with a small bridgeport on the 5 and 6 ports as I could see. The engine I did had enlarged street ports including enlarged 5 and 6 ports. Then I bridgeported the regular 4 ports and the 5 and 6 ports and match ported the 5&6 port sleeves.

Turbo II 01-30-2003 03:12 PM

i wonder how just porting it u get the brap brap brap sound

Lopy, like a wild cam on a piston engine

Judge Ito 01-30-2003 06:49 PM

Vosko has a nice video on a burnout and idle..

dac 01-30-2003 11:32 PM

I would love to see what your bridge looks like.

rotary>piston 02-01-2003 12:56 AM

does the engine rpm actually go up and down, or is it just the sound? What kind of quarter does something like that run? I just saw vosko's vioeo, and that thing looked pretty damn fast coming off the burnout.

vosko 02-01-2003 12:28 PM

you will see the rpm stay steady at 1500rpm but steady lope like a big cam. brap brap brap brap https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Haven't tried the car down the quarter mile yet, our local dragstrip is closed for winter. The engine was just ported and built. When I did the burnout the engine only had 174miles on it from a fresh rebuild with the bridgeport. I'm looking for 250rwhp on all motor with an aftermarket EMS. But we will dyno with the stock computer to see how much power is kicking to the back wheels right now.

vosko 02-01-2003 02:42 PM

go on a thursday. i'll video tape it and we can dyno my car too https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

kkekeisen 05-04-2003 11:33 PM

Hey ito, I've heard about your drawing skills, do you think you could whip something quick up to get the gist of what it looked like?

Also, what about making some templates, and/or how much would you charge to port the housings if you aren't able to make them?

thanks a lot,

kyle

treceb 05-04-2003 11:47 PM

well heres the thread. the pic is gone though. vosko might have it on his files.

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/index.php?...ST&f=81&t=12804

it basically looks like the pic at the first post on this page, with both ports bridged.

blaze08 05-04-2003 11:59 PM

so how's the 86 going?

rotary>piston 05-05-2003 01:09 AM

dammit, I thought Ito was back when I saw this thread, but no.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

blaze08 05-05-2003 09:47 AM

Where is Ito anyway?
