Dangit, i figured out what the 5k hesistation is.

Fuel cut.

I installed my aftermarket boost gauge today and right at 5k rpm i hit 10psi of boost. How i was doing this with stock cats, beats me but i think its time for a better boost gauge than the crappy one i have in the car because it doesnt do **** and i think its broken either way.

Anyways, is there any way around an FCD i really dont wanna spend that much money for a band aid. Would an S-afc remove fuel cut?

SAFC does not act as a FCD or has capabilities of one. You can build your own but that's another story.

What kind of exhaust and intake do you have?

Stock catback, cone filter on stock TID, and 3 inch downpipe/mp.

BUT my car was doing this with stock TID cone filter, both cats, and stock catback. I think now that my boost gauge is probably farked. I hope i didnt mess my engine up too badly by hitting fuel cut.

fuel cut wont mess up your engine...........thats what its their for so it WONT blow up the engine

i dont think your boost gauge is broke...theres not too much to the install ya know

i would advise in a FCD anyways for now since you do have the ability to hit it

why do you suspect your problem being fuel cut....fuel cut drops all power from the car not the ability to rev past 5k

i was just thinking cuz right at 5k rpm i hit 10 psi.

And as for the boost controller not working its some crappy unit that works from in the car and has an integrated boost gauge. Also usually any mbc over stock makes the boost fel like more of a punch but on my car it still slowly goes from 3, 5, 6, then hits 10 by 5k rpms.
