45 In First

So it's raining.. all day... and raining some more. motor has just broken in finally and i wanted to see what it could do. I've never acctually hit the rev limit. even on my old motor. they say it's 8400... or is it 8200. well. whatever it may be, i hope i didnt hurt anything... cause i hit it. In first gear.
45 Mph + 1st gear. Note to self. Lets not try that again.. or i'm sure i'll be rebuilding that motor real quick like.

you have a couple more things done to your engine. granted i have 3rd gen seals and springs.. but pheww. i dont think they are signifigantly stronger or anything. Is it bad taking a rotary that high?
I usually just hit the buzzer and shift. Buzzer in 86 is ... 6400 Rpms. engine computer cuts at 8500

just shift at redline, it's there for a reason. There is a long list of things you need to rev higher. Anyway, unless you have a big port job, the car will be slower if you ride it out that far.
On the other hand, if you LIKE rebuilding your engine every few months, then go for it.
