Well,I know for A fact its not me.

I never had any problems with the tranny in my t2,

or any of my other cars ranging from a chevy s-10 with a 400 small block

to a 68 camaro with a 454 ---I miss the old days.

I do drive it hard---But I have never seen trannys come apart so bad in my life as i have seen with this car.It always starts off with a small vibration like the pilot bearing is going out.Then one day--bamn!rumble,rumble,rumble.she locks up in first,Locks up in reverse---I have to baby it to get it back from where ever I am at.The last time it dynoed in at 177 at the wheels--and after reading about the tranny,mazda was pushing there limits with this unit to begin with.Any upgrades would probably bring trouble to it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif My father owns a couple of cottmans transmission shops in north carolina---and trust me when i go down there I see a ton of 5 speed n/a trannys out back completely fucked up.I just believe being so hard on it,and the added power is a disaster waiting to happen

You're a perfect candidate for a TII drivetrain since you are pushing the upper limits of the power the n/a tranny can hold.



I am opposed to the swap because 1) Added weight to the drivetrain 2) Nearly all racing classes require stock driveline 3) MOST failures (at least in road racing) come from bearing failure 4) a properly rebuilt tranny is better than stock (a good rebuilder modifies the tranny slightly) and 5) I am satisfied with my n/a power (that statement regarding a desire for more power angers me, but I'll leave it at that).

If your dad owns some trans shops and you know there is a problem then why do you keep driving the car?

i think u are havign **** for luck or mayeb u gotta do somethign about teh driving, or mayeb its somehting in your car that breaks them, u sure u dont have a turbo and u launch at 8500. most people i ride with are beign too DAMN HARD ON THEIR TRANNIES for no freakign reason, u can get aroudn just as fast but ne nicer to teh car.
