i was thinking about putting a 350 chevy smallblock in my 88se cause theres no engine, the interior is stripped, and it needs a new rear. Has anyone here ever done the conversion?, and what is involved, i also heard that there was a kit with all the brackets. Its kinda stupid to put a piston engine in an Rx7 but im shure would be fun to drive. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

i considered it a few months ago, but ended up changing my mind.
there is a site for granny's speed shop or somethin like that. they sell the kits. i reccomend backing it with either a 200r4 or 700r4 transmission. Both have automatic overdrive, unlike a turbo350. Either that or get a 6 speed out of a later model camaro or vette, and get a bellhousing to fit. |

I'd rather see a fc running a v8 than be wasting away in the junkyard. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif |

A running car is infinitely times better than a non runnning car. There is no arguing this fact. |

There is no arguing this fact. Amen to that! One day I'm gonna pop a 350 in my parts car just to tick off some of these uppity folks. I love the rotary, but I see nothing wrong with getting a car back on the road with a different powerplant. If the car is 15 years old and the choice is boneyard or V-8 power, which is better? Do we need to make this a poll? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif |
