The 3 Beep problem

I have the 3 beep problem i know that its in case abnormality of stepping motor signal, but what is that and how do i get rid of it? and could it be my oil metering pump? i put block off plates on and i am premixing so i dont have a omp so could it be freeking out on me?

its the steering computer, i forget what 3 beeps means, but its telling you wants wrong.... mine beeps cause it doesnt get a speed signal (forgot about that one when i fixed the cluster)



you can unplug the steering computer and the pump will default to a certain position. the FSM says 50%, my old t2 felt like 50%, current car 87 gxl feels like manual steering.



if you wanted to get really fancy, since assist is based on vehicle speed, you could make your own assist level if you wanted to

I Used to have power stearing then i switched it out for a manual rack, so if i unplug the computer it should be fine right?

yep, its right by the left front speaker. unplug, remove
