[quote name='Rob x-7' date='Jun 1 2005, 05:22 PM']if your lucky and the apex seals are good in the j-spec then the gamble is how long its been sitting and if the coolant seals are any good
take the advice of rebuilding it now or at the very least inspecting the engine really good upon delivery so you can send it back if its no good.

I will inspect it very good, the cost of a rebuild just isnt in my budget right now....
I havent really priced a rebuild kit in a while, where can I find the best priced? (I'm almost being talked into it.) Surley someone out there has had good luck with dropping a jdm in. I have never put a JDM motor in a car, but several people i know have used JDM engines in there cars, of course they were not rotarys but they all had really good luck.
Anyway thanks for the support

I can tell you that of the DIRECT dealings I have had with about 15 or so j-specs is that if you inspect them really close including a compression test they seem to be ok if they pass initial inspection, usually people leave them sitting for months before installing, after they have already been sitting months, slap them in, make some mistakes along the way, then instantly blame the engine.
It is a used engine, it did come out of a car that was junked/wrecked, but there are some success stories
Watch who you buy from, inspect RIGHT AWAY or even before shipping, and try to install as soon as you can, correctly. Try running it stock at first as well
