What rear end will fit into my 86' base. I'm just looking for direct swap. I have a 85 GSL-SE rear end but i don't know if that will work.

Why are you looking to swap? What gear ratio do you want? Open Diff or LSD? No the 85 will not be a bolt in swap

Yes and no, it fits but takes driveline mods to make it work.

To stay on topic within the spirit of this thread, Get any rear end except Turbo or maybe the GTUS (maybe 1 of you Americans can chime in here(this model wasn't available in Canada)a lot of the underpinnings of this car was the same as the Turbo).

I would recomend a GXL diff so that you will have LSD

Contrary to internet wisdom: THe GTUs diff is just an NA with a 4.30 Ring and Pinion.

I myself find that i need a new rear end. So what you guys are saying is that a t2 diff wont work correctly on my n/a car, but the gtus diff will?

what year of car and model? How many miles on it? What condition is it in? How much racing did you do on it?

Stock S4 that was wrecked. probably no more than street racing. I would not tell you much less than 100K cause the diff has been out of the car for a while.

Lets make a quick deal. I am not sure of the status after the long weekend
