While talking it over with my boss, we recalled that the Bronco was real low in coolant. So that's probably a factor. I'll check my coolant level before I leave work.

When functioning properly, the 2nd gens have a low coolant alarm, the sensor is in the top of the radiator. It will set off an idiot light and a loud assed buzzer.... If you find it's low check the sensor wiring/connector, it's a useful alarm to have functioning... I try to avoid opening the cap unless absolutely necessary since it can often introduce more air into the system thus requiring you to bleed it again, which is annoying. If the coolant is low and the sensor seems fine it may be worth a: testing the sensor and b: cold solder points fix (resolder some circuits which commonly fail on 2nd gens)

Is the heater core still hooked up? Someone might have by-passed it.

Also if you are getting no heat you might need to change your thermostat.

By the way, I have never touched that bleeder screw on any RX-7 that I owned and never had a air problem, I think if you fill the system properly you dont get air in the system.

I've had to use it a few times in the past, some people suggest using the water level sensor hole for bleeding instead actually... anyways, it's good to know it's there in case you do get air in the system at some point in time owning the car... perhaps replacing a hose on the BACV or thermowax. When that add coolant alarm goes off at seemingly random times but theres no apparent problems.. cracking open the bleed valve for a bit will usually solve it.

actually, with the aluminum radiator from srmotorsports you have to use the water temp sensor boss as a bleed valve to get the air out, since the elbow has no bleed valve in it.

Not really, I think he just accepts the fact that when someone has nothing to do they end up browsing the web. He does it too, he just doesn't come out and say it's ok.

Any tips on the clutch thing? Anybody?

Muad'Dib 11-08-2002 04:16 PM

sounds liyou have a bad front diff mount with the clutch thing. by "jamming the clutch" waht exactly do you mean??? pushing it in or hard takeoffs. for a visual of what the problem may be.

whne the front diff mount is bad. it sags when there is no presure on the driveline. when you take off, it slams upward into the mount , making the thud sound. when you let off it may also make this sound as it slams into the rear subframe.

the sound should come from right behind the seats...

just a guess

It makes that sound when I depress the clutch pedal, and I figured out only at relatively low speeds.
