Just what the question says. I think i fucked my rotor housing so I'm gonna need new ones. So is a 13BRE ROTOR housing the same as an FD housing?

Yes, the exhaust sleeves are different (and shitty in the RE).





Timing is not affected by the location of the spark plugs, btw.

 

 

doesnt matter where the spark fires in the housing, as long as its still firing in the combustion area. as long as the leading fire together.

 

Its common misconception that since the S5 moved the spark plug location in the rotor housing, that this affects the ignition timing, and you have to be careful when using S4 rotor housings with the S5 computer, and vice versa.

This is completely wrong. Spark plug location determines where combustion begins from, and timing is determined by when spark occurs with respect to eccentric shaft rotation (in degrees).



This reply was made in reference to BigTurbo's quote that "timing might be affected too".

Unless, of course, he meant exhaust port timing, in which case, the ports are identical, but the RE sleeves have a lip on them which makes the port close earlier. With FC turbo/FD exhaust port sleeves, the port timing is identical.
