Having alot of trouble getting out of the hole, cut a 2.37 60ft with a 9.7 at 75mph, on street tires and a 75 shot.
Chased down a Ls1 Camaro, SRT8 Charger, and a Trailblazer SS. |
not bad not bad, need to work on the 60Ft though https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif
|
Yeah that 60 ft is pretty crummy. I bet with some more practice and some fine tunning on the car there is about 1/2 sec to be gained.
|
I would think you would be faster with a 75 shot. On my basically stock 90 GTU, just had full exhaust and a cone filter, I ran a 10.0@ 73 mph with a 2.1 60 ft.
|
If I could get off of the line it would have, cutting a 2.4 60 ft is pretty crappy. My MPh was great the et just wasnt there.

Your mph was only 2 better than mine, and my car only had full exhaust and a cone filter. I would expect a lot more than a 2 mph difference when you have a 75 shot. ET tells how good the driver is. MPH tells how good the car is. Even traction issues affect ET considerably more than the trap speed. |
Yours is also an s5, Makes a pretty good difference too. Ill try and get the videos up later, you can see as soon as I launched it would bog or spin, but once it got moving I was making up time like crazy, once I got moving i was allright, trying to get used to a Pro Tree isnt that much fun either. Ive got some IMCA tires that Im gonna try next time we go that might help me a bit.
Plus if I could cut a 2.1 60, that is 3/10ths gained, that would put me about 9.3 9.4 range, with a 75 shot that is about right. |
i cut a 1.60 60 ft with my 95 hp 1.8L eclipse LOL with a .512 reaction time i rock at launch then went off to do a 12.6 1/8th mile LMFAO LOL

take ur bullshit elsewhere!
|
Don't worry about it man- my S5 only got 2.388 in the 60'. Sadly 10.7s and only 66 mph (lost to an awd CRV) . For some reason my car did the same and fail on it's face. It would rip in 1st but once in second it took forever to get back into the upper rpm band.

Well, I'll offer up these numbers for a comparison. I damn sure ain't proud of 'em! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif
Went to the strip last night for the last event of the season. Damn, it was wall-to-wall. There was so much junk going down the track that they were stopping every few runs to clean up the track. One guy with a big block chevy stuffed into a 1980's AMC biffed the wall. I was talking with him before they started runs and he said the car had done mid 10's a while back. Got a total of 2 runs in all night, one for me, and one for my wife. The kids were great, but it's hard to do much spectating when you're chasing two young-uns. REACTION: .9604 Yeah, I was sleeping big-time! 60 FT: 2.53 Haha. Man that sucked. I'm having trouble launching with the Hoosiers. Bog city. 1/8 ET: 9.84 1/8 MPH: 82.71 1/4 ET: 14.68 1/4 MPH: 102.41 It has been a long time since I've had the car at the strip, and it was easier to launch with the little BFG drags I had on before. Looks like I need a bit more practice! That and I'm still running AFR's in the high 10's. |

DICK come talk when you have more than 100 posts LMFAO!! Haha. Damn I love the RX-7 forums. Anyway. When I had my first S5 after I just got my TII swap done to it (Had a REALLY big boost leak) I took it to the track. Keep in mind it was my first time ever to the track and I only got to run twice, I also don't remember my 60ft.. Sorry. But my reaction time was something like 1.25 (HAHA. Embarrassing..) and my first 1/8th ET was 10.3. Don't really remember how fast I was going either. On the second run the RT was something like .9-- and the ET was a 9.9 The car had a few things done, but not much just a full exhaust and a FMIC. Unfortunately when I got it all fixed they shut the track down to build *Shudder* Condos.. how wonderful. And they wonder why we street race in Jacksonville.. Anyway. This new car I'm building should show to be pretty good. Lot's of good stuff in it and I'll have to take it to Gainesville to run it at their track. But I'll be sure to put up the numbers as soon as I do. |
yes you do have to love the rx7-forum
