Hi guys... First of all, I'm excited to join the forum as a new RX7 owner! I recently picked up a 1988 RX7 convertible. It is in good shape - solid body, which is hard to find here in Canada, but it does need some TLC, so I'll be looking to the forum to give and receive information on these great cars!

So here are some questions... The wipers do not seem to want to work. It appears as if the motor works, and the previous owner said he thinks it's the dash switch, but.... Now, the horn doesn't seem to work either, but i tripped the security alarm and the horn sounded, so.... Also, i get no air from the vents. When i select a setting, it seems tomdomsomething but then the light goes out and - no air... nothing at all from the vents. And lastly, when i steer the car, there's a chirping sound that comes from the front end - not sure what could be causing that.

The wiper switch is a common fail point. There's a relay on the circuit board that fails. Mazdatrix sells a whole new switch for $366. Or, you can buy the relay online (I forget where) and fix it yourself, or pay an electronics shop to fix it for you. This would likely cost less than $50, total.

horn- yell real loud
a/c- put the top down, or wear a jacket
chirp sound- turn the radio up to drown out the sound
