What Do The Numbers Mean Of The Rotor Housings
i was just curious what the numbers on the rotor housings mean? and if there is anyway to decipher and figure out what serious the mtor is. my number is 5 hundred something(563 comes to mind) thanx in advance

casting number, so they can trace any problems back to the date and batch and what machine made them so they can fix any problems if they find any during the whole process of making the part.
There's a long thread on rx7club about this. The production #'s that don't have letters in front of them where the initial production run. They where the ones with minor problems. The production #'s that had letters in front of them where fixed. There was A series, B, C, D, and I heard E. The ones with the numbers ground off of them where the initial series that had problems and where under warranty and sent back to mazda. Those I believe are the same as the letter series and shouldn't have any of the early on problems. You'll have to search for that thread to find out what problems they where having. I don't recall.
