So the search for a 20b begins. I called atkins, since theyre local, and they have a 20b (just the block) for 3k, and with manifolds its 5k ... wtf is with that?! And they arent even rebuilt. So im now looking for a 20b WITH manifolds and turbos for around 3k or lower. Anyone have any connections or know good places to start? Ive checked the parts trader, ebay, local rotary shops ... im hoping maybe JT might be able to hook something up from japan. Or something.. *shrug*

I called and emailed lots of places. I also went through lots of old threads on various forums. Then when I finally found an importer with agood prices, I kept calling back every now and then. The whole process took many months (actually over a year, but yeah).

 

Too bad you don't know someone tight with Atkins... they might be able to get you a deal

how much did you guys pay for yours? SR motorsports is selling one for 4600 with ecu and coils. Im looking at that right now.

 

Mine didn't come with an alt or high compression. It cost me $600 before shipping, which is basically a core charge. I think some MMO will bring the compression back, but there's a chance it'll need a rebuild. I also have a spare FB alternator.

 

what i REALLY want is a 20b for around that same price you got it, because im gonna rebuild it anyways. So i dont want to spend like 4k and then another 1500 ... just for the engine.

 

i paid 3800 from fc3s.org, but it was an impulse buy, that was the only one i found in stock. i found a couple in japan, and a couple on a boat but if i was gonna wait i would have just put the 13bt back together. mine came with the ecu and coils, but thats not quite enough to make the stock ecu run, and the stock coils will only work with the stock ecu
