Ok for some time now I have threw around the idea of maybe getting my hands on a JC Cosmo. I have heard that there is a couple here in the states. I was wandering how they went about getting them registered. I have seen a few that were to be imported into Canada through a import/ export company, is this the way to get it over? If anyone knows how these cars were made legal or actually owns one I would like to get some info thanks.

Nobody has any idea or know any of the owners of the cosmos currently in the states?

That's an idea I never thought about with the tags. I have a few friends that are dealers or drive car haulers, they have Dealer tags which could work to be able to drive the car. I don't know I would still like to get one & have it registedred the right way. Somehow these guys have found the way & hopefully I might be able to in the future.

not sure what virginia's registration laws are like but indiana's if you buy the car out of state all they do is do a visual confirmation that the VIN on the car matches the one on the title then you're good to go. Never tried a JDM car though so I'm not sure how that'd work out.....

almost purchased one in BC but couldnt get the paperwork done in time before it was snatched up by a local....
black on black with 80km on the clock...just need new turbos and ac recharge.. ill get one eventually.. |
you could always get a rolling chassis then order the drivetrain from japan. register it as a kit car and it doesn't need a vin
GT-R guys have been doing that for quite awhile..... |
