Is it better to use an ECU for a 20B if you want to do a 20B swap into an FC or would it be better to use an aftermarket computer like a Haltech or Wolf?
If it is better to use a 20B ECU, does it matter if that ECU is for an automatic even if you are running a standard transmission? |
that depends. the stock ecu is a little limited, but it is reliable.
basically to get all the codes to go away out of the stock ecu you need to make it think its still hooked up to the transmission. |
I use an Electromotive TEC-1. The TEC-3 is cool system to use. Reasonably priced. Lots of GM parts used.

TEC systems are so limited. That's just my opinion.

It depends on what your trying to do with it. I've also looked into this system

haltech e6x will run the 20 very well.

Haltech e11v2 will run it better
how? |
Since I don't have any hard facts to base it on, I can't explain how very well. All I know is the ECU I hooked up is tons more flexible than a TEC. I'll find out soon how well it runs the engine.
