8 year sitting 20B froze up
Hi Guys, I looked through the 20B forum, and did not find an answer. I bought a 1995 Cosmo front clip in 2010. The 20b turned over back then. Its been sitting in my garage for 8 years and now its locked up. I would like to see if I could free it up instead of a tear down, On Froze V8s in the past; I used a solution of brake fluid, penetrating oil and transmission oil to free locked up engines. I heard that if a rotary sits too long the apex seals dry out and lock up the engine? wondering if this is true and would this solution cause problems with rotor seals and compression seals?

The only way to fix your problem is to rebuild your motor. You might free up motor but I would not trust an old motor to run very long after being seized up. 20Bs are worth too much to take the chance on it not blow up on you and cost you heaps more if this happens
