ok so i have a few questions lol...can you mount a rx8 trany on a 20B and can you put a rx8 trany in a FC? just wondering i would like a 6 speed when i get done but if its not possible its cool lol thanks for any segguestions and info.

Yes you can with some fab work . Now if your 20b is going to be boosted you are going break the trany very easy .

You don't necessarily need a 6 speed with a 20B. The torque allows for a taller geared diff and a strong 5 speed. You could probably get away with a 4 speed.

ok cool...im building it to try and hang with the top end supras...figured a 6 speed would help lol...but if i dont need one then cool lol thanks for the help guys

if you look in the engine section, ive got pics of the rx8 tranny apart.



1. i dont think it can handle enough power for a "top end supra" maybe its goot for like 350-400ish?



2. the shifter is 2" further forward, so the trans has to move back, driveshaft needs to be shorter etc etc



3. it bolts right up to the engine like a stock t2 trans



4. its pretty close ratio, so you can run a peakier engine with it, the 20b, has a nice big broad powerband, might not be a good match... you need to figure our what your power curve is gonna be like, and then look for a trans

A 20b will blow the FE tranny apart. The finaly gear seting in the tranny is nearly identical to the rx7. 5th gear is same as fourth and you just move 1 and 2 closer what good does that do?
