Hi,

I wondering is someone can help me. I need some rough measurements for the location of the front engine mount on the 20b, and also a pic if possible.

I am designing a midengine kit/racecar and need this to finsish the chassis design. The bolt positions don't have to be exact as I can alter that when I buy my own engine, I just need the layout and location relative to the engine block.

Any help would be massively appreciated.

Thanks

There's no front engine mount on a stock 20b engine. One either side adjacent to the rear engine plate plus gearbox mounts.

Do you mean the one half way up on the right, on the front cover- 2 studs? Is this the only mount near the front of the engine, or is this mirrored on the other side aswell.

I know this is a stupid thing to be asking, but its really hard finding any pics or info about mounts on the net and there aren't any I could go and take a look at either.

thanks again

Like Kev already said there is not a front engine mount. What you are thinking of are the studs that hold the ps pump/ac pump bracket. The engine is mounted only off the rear.

I've the engine out of the car at the moment so will take some pics of the stock Cosmo engine mounts for you in the morning.

hey just to jump on board here, could ya use a 13b front cover on the 20b so that it could be front mounted also?

or is that a bit to much work since the original mounts do the job good enough

Thanks for the help guys. Yeah I'm now thinking this may be the best option. Are there any issues with using the 13b front cover on the 20b? Do you mean the one with the four mounting holes on the lower, centre area of the front cover. I have got one of these I took off a 12a, did any 13b's use the same one?

This mount would be ideal, I was just concerned that it might not be suitable. And it would be nice to be able to just bolt the 20b in without any changes, if I could retain the original mount.

Heres a pic of how I used this front cover on a 13b in a previous project

Thanks
