I have come across a 2004 Rx8 with a previously installed 20b with Rx7 rotors (this is my first rotary so please excuse my lack of knowledge). A custom lowered intake manifold with 1580cc secondary and 892.5cc primaries. Already installed is a G42 with a 4" Downpipe.



Anyways that is what I know about the vehicle right now, I would like to finish as much as I can before sending it to get tuned. I have been working on imports for 10 years but never worked on a rotary.



This is what I think I should get, please critique me in any way. All criticism encouraged.



-Haltech e11v2

-An M&W Pro 16 Rotary CDI

-6 Ferrite Coils

-3 bar Map Sensor

-Hall Effect CKP Sensor



After reading forums and researching companies I came up with that list but I need a little help with the rest.



I am having a problem finding technical information from the original 20b to help me with my project.

if they used the original 20b CAS you can use that, its the same as the FC



other than that your list looks good.



the 3 rotor engines, were basically the missing link between the FC turbo engines and the FD engines. some stuff like the cas, engine rotors, is like the FC, some stuff like the oil pump, turbo system, is like the FD, and then there are a few just cosmo peices, like the irons

I am having a hard time finding Information on the Stock 20b, such as all the technical specs, wiring diagrams, theory and operation, etc. I know that I can go to alldata.com and pay for information but Im not sure of what exact car this engine came from. Cosmo?



Can anyone give me a little info on obtaining this information, I called mazda but they were unwilling to do the legwork. Does anybody have an ideas?

the engine was in the cosmo, but it was never exported out of japan, so all the manuals are in japanese.

Hi, I'm not sure you'll need much more info if you're using an aftermarket ecu. Once you strip all the smog stuff off you're left with injectors and ignition. But then I'm a noob to rotary so.....
