Hi fellas,

I appologize before hand if this is a repost. I am at the point in my project to purchase the ecu now. I understand the pros and cons between the two ecus. I like the e11v2, but I've heard about overheating/crashing issues. Has Haltech resolved this problem with current computers? I also hear good things about the ltx12s, but it has few aux outputs and cannot use MSD boxes. I have a dis 4 and a dis 2 I'd like to use, and I've heard the e11v2 can be used with them. Thanks for your 2 cents. I'll post some pics soon....it's looking really nice.

Nice to see you back on the forum again!

IMO, there are only a few choices.

1. Autronic SM4: lots of outputs/inputs, powerful, accurate, extremely flexible/open-ended software, expensive but not a fortune.

2. TEC3R: accurate, expensive but includes a very nice ignition system.

3. Motec M800: does everything the SM4 does and then some, but costs a fortune

As you may recall the E11v2 was my original choice, but I wrote it off after Haltech admitted that the timing fluctuated by more than a degree on the bench, and Mandeville said the fuel injection control was not as precise as the Motecs he has used.

My E11v2 has been working fine, though the weather has been cold. I like all the options of outputs, inputs, analog inputs, the extra load/RPM map, etc.

The ltx12s is easy to install, they include specific diagrams for your application. Running directly to the coils seems to work fine. Plenty of people down under running big boost on Microtechs, and Padilla is using it for methanol. I don't like the lack of inputs (1!) and outputs (2!). Pretty good choice for a street car I think so far. Tuning hasn't started yet though, so not familiar with it's software.

i had a wolf 3d , and it worked fine on the 13b. It's cons are few output and minimal map resolution. very easy to install though.

I read on another forum that there's a group buy for an e11v2 for $1400. So pricing puts it competitive with the ltx12s.

I have ltx12s and I use MSD Digital-7. Ask your microtech dealer for info/options.
